We planted vines on 20 acres of land situated on Ketches Farm, on the south side of the village and are extremely excited to be bringing English wine into the heart of our beautiful village. We have planted just over 37,000 vines, split approximately 44% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Noir, and 13% each of Pinot Meunier and Bacchus. The vines are planted with a row width of 2.2m, and vine spacing of 1m (apart from the more vigorous Bacchus which is planted with a 1.1m vine spacing). We have three clones of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, and two of Pinot Meunier, all planted on two different root stocks. While we have chosen a classic sparkling mix of varieties, the selection of clones will give us plenty of options to make top quality still wines as well as sparkling cuvees. Our first harvest should come in the autumn of 2025, with the first still wines released in the spring of 2026.
